Description: 21 Lions, belonging to the Topi pride, rushing towards out car, in The Maasai Mara National Reserve, these two young lions ran towards our vehicle.

Story from behind the lens: In the bushes arose these 21 lions, all belonging to the Topi Pride. During our visit to the Maasai Mara National Reserve, these two young lions ran towards our vehicle.

As they ran towards us, they were being so playful. We witnessed so much interaction, especially between the younger members of this pride. These two kept bumping into each other, and the older members of the pride followed behind them to hurry them along.

Moreover, as they ran, they all suddenly starting dropping to the ground, and almost instantly falling fast asleep! They stayed fast asleep for hours. It really was amazing observing them rolling around in the mud, with their legs up in the air. Watching them huddle together, as if they were penguins, in order to keep themselves warm, during this colder time of the year; truly fascinating!

One of my favourite memories from this trip to the Mara!
