Description: A female leopard sitting proudly on a hammerkop nest

Story from behind the lens: I watched in amazement as the tail of a leopard hung from the side of a hammerkop nest. The beautiful female leopard then emerged in an explosion through the top of the nest. As she sat on the nest, the tree framed the opportunist cat perfectly. It was disappointing for her as there was no one in residence at the time. However it gave me the chance to capture this unusual scene which epitomised the diversity of wildlife, and in particular, the big cats of the Maasai Mara
