Description: Female leopard testing in the wet underbrush
Story from behind the lens: Over the radio we heard that a female leopard Had just been spotted after making a kill of a small impala. When we arrived, she had moved into the underbrush and we were able to find a location where we had a direct line of sight towards her. In front of her was the remaining leg of the small impala. Every so often she would raise her head and call out. My guide shared with me that she was vocalizing and calling out for her cubs to come join her. Just as I was about to take this image, she looked right at me, and her gaze sent chills down my spine.
