Description: We came across this young lioness guarding a rather large dead buffalo. She was irritated by the huge amount of flies and kept tossing her head to shake them off.

Story from behind the lens: Conditions were very hot and smelly as we sat in the vehicle observing the scene and I have never seen so many flies in my life!
