Story from behind the lens: We found a pride of lions on a zebra kill on the open plains of the Mara. Whilst we were watching, one of the young males sneaked off with a zebra leg to go and eat it a distance away from the other pride lions. He looked simultaneously proud and wary whilst doing so. I was able to get this image as he walked away from the pride, straight towards us. In my mind it captures the ongoing life and death dramas playing themselves out on the Mara.
