Story from behind the lens: It was our final full day in the Mara, and due to the unprecedented rain, the first day we had been able to cross the river and get over to the Marsh. We came up on The Marsh pride just as the sun was coming up and they were all covered in mud. Kaleo was the dirtiest of them all and as she crossed the street in front of our car I was able to get 2 frames where she stepped into the morning light and everything behind her fell into the shadows.
