Description: Wildebeest grazing peacefully and walking along a tree-filled slope with the red African sun setting behind and the fiery red sunset skies filled with excitement around symbolising Africa.
Story from behind the lens: After a heavy downpour in Ol Kinyei Conservancy, the skies opened and paved way for a glorious fiery red sky and a red sunset, one I've dreamed of since I started my wildlife photography journey. Having positioned ourselves on low ground overlooking this slanted hill right where the sun set. Focusing on this specific wildebeest who still had grass left in it mouth from grazing walking slowly along this hill, the wildebeest gives an amazing account of a fiery African sunset, being the perfect subject, with a tree, the red sky and most importantly it's amazing characteristics while casually grazing on its path. I can not thank my guide Stanley enough for such an incredible position he set to get all of the elements in this very photo. It just shows that with some extra creativity and thanks to an amazingly red sky the intense and intimate experiences one can have in Africa especially when the sun goes down. This image was taken last month in December 2023, in Ol Kinyei conservancy, I can not emphasise the incredible work Porini camps are doing in that conservancy towards conservation and making dream photographic moments just like this picture for guests such as myself come true in a wildlife dreamland.
