Description: A hyena makes its way back to the den, through the dry grasses of the Mara

Story from behind the lens: Our very first game drive in the Mara set off in a gloomy, rainy afternoon. Our guide suggested we set off for the local hyena den to see what the family was doing, and we were pleased to see that the cooler weather meant that the family was out and about. We noticed some of the long grass waving, and one of the adults emerged from the grass to the excitement of the youngsters.
