Description: Male lion watching the sun go down at the end of another busy day.

Story from behind the lens: Our guide took us up a steep rocky incline to a nearly-inaccessible spot overlooking a wide, flat promontory where a large pride of lions -- six females, twenty or more cubs, and several males -- were settling down for the evening. The males came out of the bush last and tried to find convenient spots to rest. But the cubs were not quite ready for bed and playfully "attacked" each other and the males until this fellow finally gave up and moved off to be by himself and gaze thoughtfully across a wide valley as the sun disappeared behind a line of purple hills in the distance.
