Description: Mrefu, one of the most handsomest lions of the Mara drinking water.
Story from behind the lens: Just 10 minutes out of the camp for our evening safari, we bumped into Mrefu on a buffalo kill. His partner Oloodo was sleeping in the tall grass about 50 meters away. As we watched Mrefu, it looked like he had over eaten. He was very restless. Couldn't sleep, sit or stand. There was barely and meat left on the carcass so we knew he was going to move and probably look for some water to drink so we decided to wait with him. As soon as it started getting a little cooler, he woke up and went straight to a a little stream just a few meters away from the buffalo carcass. Our guide Sammy managed to position the car in such away that Mrefu was facing straight at us while drinking water.
