Description: A shot of three ostriches moving across the grasslands against the backdrop of a dramatic sky, rays of light streaming down and the setting sun.

Story from behind the lens: Masai Mara has a good population of Ostriches and it is quite interesting to observe them. It is usual to find many pairs during the mating season however last year in July noticed that there were three that were moving together across the savannah. As we were driving past the the trio, I noticed the beautiful sky with the setting sun and the streams of light shining down. With the help of Solo (safari guide) we positioned the vehicle and waited the moving birds to line up, to get this shot where the rays of light aligned with the birds. I think the patience allowed us to frame this visually appealing composition and habitat shot of these wonderful birds of the masai mara.
