Description: The Mbili Bora are backlit and bathed in the golden light of the rising sun.

Story from behind the lens: The famous Tano Bora (coalition of 5 cheetahs) has whittled down over the years. On our trip prior to this one we had seen the Tatu Bora (coalition of 3) cross the Talek river. Sadly between that trip and this one we heard that they had lost one more cheetah. We were eager to catch a glimpse of the now Mbili Bora (coalition of 2). When we did see them, it quite simply took our breathe away.

We came across the Mbili Bora sitting out in the open savannah, backlit and bathed in the golden light of the rising sun. The ethereal beauty of the moment seemed to also underline their vulnerability. It was a poignant moment for us as we gazed at the two surviving members of a once mighty coalition.
