Description: A pride of lions sleeps in the shade of a loan tree.

Story from behind the lens: In the open savanna we found a pride of 20 lions asleep under the shade of a lone tree which provided the only respite from the sun on the open plain. One lion surveyed the horizon while the others slept. As the sun moved through the sky, the shade from the tree's canopy slowly circled the tree. Much like beach goers, following the shade of an umbrella, lions newly exposed to the sun groggily rose and moved to the opposite side seeking a new sliver of shade.
