Description: A Secretary Bird makes a kill.
Story from behind the lens: On our way through the Mara Triangle we spotted a Secretary Bird stalking through the grassy plain and spent time observing the technique. A quick few steps then a short sprint followed by a pause then a sudden leg lift and strike! After a series of follow up attacks it began to remove its kill from the grass then we identified it as a Black Mamba, one of the most poisonous snakes in Africa. It then ate it head first while nictitating its eyes. We photographed the whole series, quite a thrill!
