Story from behind the lens: We watched this lone lioness along the banks of the Mara River when she slowly descended down toward the water. Unsure of her intentions, she gracefully navigated the rocky edge. With a few glances around she settled in for a long drink as we watched from afar. When she was done, she slowly ascended up the bank with no sense of urgency or direction. With a few more glances around she made her way and disappeared into the tall grass taking her secrets with her.
