Description: Male Lion walks across the field to his pride

Story from behind the lens: We had spent most of the morning with the Topi pride, photographing the interactions between moms and cubs. Shortly after sunrise, there seemed to be a stir in the air....The King was coming! We all looked across the savannah and up a slight hill, where you could barely see the top of his mane and the slight swaying of the grasses. He blended in so beautifully! As he got closer and closer he stopped to regally survey the scene. The females had begun to move towards him. The fourteen or so cubs were on a mound observing his arrival. This interaction I will always remember, and the image was made as he had stopped in the field.
