Story from behind the lens: Lions and cheetahs are competitors for food and mortal enemies. As soon as the opportunity arises, lions will try to kill their competitors. This cheetah was lying with her cub in the warm evening sun when the lioness appeared some distance away. At first the lioness didn't notice the cheetahs, but when she caught the scent, the hunt began. The cheetah tried to attract the lioness' interest with mock attacks so that the cub could sneak away unnoticed. Again and again the lioness attacked the cheetah. However, the lioness could not keep up with the speed of the cheetah and tired very quickly. This was the cheetahs' chance to escape.
