Description: Faulu the female leopard from Masai Mara, shot late evening after a long wait!

Story from behind the lens: We dedicated the afternoon to Faulu's search. Having arrived at her last known location at 3.30pm, and just as the last glimmer of hope faded with the sun falling below the horizon, the beauty turned up through the thicket - almost 3 hours later. She crossed the river, past our car and gave us only very few minutes sitting on an elevated perch with the beautiful soft glow of gold in the sun behind the thicket that naturally framed her. The lighting left all the attention to Faulu allowing me to get this shot in one of the only moments she looked and paused almost directly at me with the mesmerising blue green eyes wide open! An un-forgetful experience.
