Story from behind the lens: We had seen this lion in the afternoon with a buffalo kill. With the hope of shooting some images of the old fellow feeding, we returned to it in the evening. We found the fellow sitting behind a small mound. As clouds gathered in the background and the scene darkened a bit, the lion appeared surrounded by a blur manifesting the fading away of an old aristocrat.
