Description: A serval cat poses down the catwalk for seconds, before disappearing into the grasses of the Mara.

Story from behind the lens: It was the first sighting of the early morning and my husband actually spotted it, our first ever Serval. Our lovely guide, Daniel was able to creep up to it so as to not scare it off. For a few seconds, the serval stopped and gazed beyond the horizon (no doubt having caught whiff of two hyenas on the prowl; luckily for it, downwind). We merely had a minute with it, before it elegantly disappeared into the grasses of the Mara. Magical and peaceful sightings in the Mara engage a different set of senses.
