Description: A typical Maasai Mara sunset featuring the iconic crested cranes.

Story from behind the lens: I had been observing a migration of white storks for several days. As the sun set on this evening, I watched them coming in to roost into what seemed to be a favourite tree. At the last moment, a magnificent pair of crested cranes came in to join them. I intended to keep a little detail in the foreground to give depth, but it was the moment the cranes alighted that made the shot for me.
