Description: A group of 17 lions from Topi pride watching a wild buffalo in the contrasting blue and golden landscape of Masai Mara.

Story from behind the lens: The grass flows, buffalo stands to protect its mate, the Topi wait with patience, with the Rhino Reeds in the background, the stage is set. With the shot, I wanted to capture the stillness in the anticipation of what’s going to happen. Its quite deceptive because the target buffalo is actually an injured one in the water body hoping to get away from the predators. The one in the picture is a diversion, the friend who stayed behind to help the one in need.
