Story from behind the lens: At daybreak, we came upon some younger lions feasting on their kill of a Cape Buffalo from the night before. The lions were surrounded by a host of scavengers awaiting a chance to get some food: hyenas, vultures, and jackals. This Lion looked up and gave an ominous warning look to anyone who thought they would take a chance to steal the head of the Buffalo from him.
