Description: One of Mara's famous leopards, Bahati, relaxing in the cool breeze of dusk

Story from behind the lens: Ever since I saw Bahati's story in Jonathan and Angela Scott's Big Cat Diaries, I was hoping someday our paths will cross. Lo and behold, it happened on my recent safari in June. After about five attempts our guide Daniel's perseverance and commitment enabled my rendezvous with this elusive cat. Generally when I am lucky, I see leopards in trees or shrubs. But this time I saw this amazing predator in full glory, in the open, with an impressive pose hugging her rock. I took this unique opportunity to show her majestic presence in a beautiful setting.

The lighting condition was challenging and she started moving away soon after we saw her. Gave me a few seconds to grab this composition when she was staring at me/my lens. We followed her for a few minutes till she disappeared into the bushes. A great experience to remember and cherish.
