Description: A wet lioness shakes off the rain as she rises from her nap

Story from behind the lens: We arrived in Naboisho Conservancy from the Mara, expecting higher temperatures and bright sunlight. Instead, on our first game drive we had to get covered in rain gear from head to toe to stay dry and warm! Our goal was to find some of the local lions, and we did so. They looked quite miserable in the rain, but as it began to let up they began to get up to dry themselves off. I played around with different shutter speeds as they shook off the water, and this version seemed to best represent the wetness of the situation.
