Story from behind the lens: This male lion and the lioness to his left have “chosen” each other. They shared a big meal 2 days prior and this male has been patiently waiting for his female to be ready to mate. He has been by her side rain or shine and on this particular evening, we caught him shaking off some heavy rain from his mane before laying back down beside his lioness to continue waiting for her.
