Description: The Secretary Bird captured this venomous snake
Story from behind the lens: We saw the Secretary Bird in a field walking back and forth, apparently hunting. After observing a short time, he seemed to hone in on one area and began an episode of stomping, jumping, and twirling. We knew he had something... After about 15-20 minutes of this, he pulls a snake from the tall grass. He dropped it several times and went back to stomping. Finally, he grabbed it by its head, pinched in his beak. Later, we came to identify and realize the snake was the very poisonous Black Mamba Snake, which is easily digested by the Bird.
