Description: Luluka ferrying her new born cub

Story from behind the lens: This was a chance sighting- a fleeting glance of the beautiful Luluka and her new cub before she disappeared into the shadows of the tall grass.

Upon having heard of Luluka's presence in the area over radio chatter, our guide Lenny rushed to the scene as quickly as possible. We were secretly hopeful that we would get to see her and her cubs as there had been no sighting of her for a few days. We didn't want to get ahead of ourselves. As we arrived at the scene, we frantically looked around, feeling as though we had already missed the opportunity. It was at that moment that Lenny pointed her out as she walked out of the grass, and onto the pathway, walking directly towards us carrying her newborn cub.

What a sighting it was!

All in all, the encounter barely lasted for a full minute, but the memory of it will stay with us forever.
