Description: Post mating, a lioness establishes her boundaries

Story from behind the lens: On a wet, gray muddy morning we encountered a lion couple engaged in the mating process. Thanks to our guide we were able to witness this ritual from the start and see all aspects of it. It was amazing that the lions carried on their activity in the slippery mud without being at all bothered by the human presence. After the activity was completed I was able to capture a moment where the lioness seemed to be making clear to the male that he needed to back off whatever bothersome behavior that was annoying her. Moments late they were friends again. It was a bit challenging due to the weather but I was happy capture some of the colors that stood out.
