Description: An adorable lion cub walks out of the shadows and into the morning light in the wild savannah of the Masai Mara, Kenya.

Story from behind the lens: Having spent the night in the bushes, the cub sought out its mother to play and maybe nurse. It stepped into the shadow of a safari vehicle and as it continued along its trajectory it emerged into the light with part of its body in the shade and part of it in the light. Clicking the shutter at this junction was crucial and upon post processing to darken the shadows completely as well as setting it up as a black and white image, I was able to produce this low key photo. I love the fact that I caught catchlights of the sun in its eye.
