Description: The magnificent lion Nyekundu makes his move

Story from behind the lens: We found Nyekundu (meaning "red" in Swahili) in the late afternoon on a clear day. He was posing nicely on a mound and we positioned ourselves for a backlit shot as the sun slowly set. I was busy taking some portrait shots of him when suddenly something piqued his interest and, without any warning, he leapt onto his feet and darted away.
