Description: Besides great wildlife, The Mara is known for its stunning sunrises and sunsets. The sun comes in spectacular fashion and always creates a dramatic scenery almost out of a fantasy movie.
Story from behind the lens: When in the Mara, I always wake up very early in search of the golden light and beautiful subjects. Sometimes you only find one of the above. On this particular day, my guide and I had searched for kilometres with no luck of a good subject. We were driving around until i saw this dead branch that looked like a very abstract light stand. I asked my guide to stop as I wanted to see how it would frame the sun. It turned out great. Well my clothes were all wet from the morning dew as I had to lie down to frame the sun in my "lamp" but thats part of photographing nature. You can't set the scene as you would in studio, you have to work with what nature gifts you with.
