Description: A mature male Thomson's Gazelle chasing a young male out of his breeding territory.
Story from behind the lens: Going on my first safari I hoped to see predators, like cheetahs, chasing down fast prey such as gazelles. I didn't witness this but I saw the next best thing with a mature male Thomson's gazelle chasing a young male out of his breeding territory. The display of dominance began with head butting and lead to this high speed chase with all of the twists and turns you would see in a hunt. The chase went on surprisingly long, with incredibly nimble changes in direction. Both of these abilities are used by these gazelle to evade cheetahs who are faster but not as agile and can't maintain their top speed for as long.
