Description: This sighting was a wonderful start to the day. We were observing a female leopard and her cub in a tree when they descended and spent a long time out in the open.

Story from behind the lens: I couldn't believe our luck being able to witness the interaction between the two. The cub left his mother's side to go exploring and my heart was in my mouth because a hyena had been at the foot of the tree earlier (an impala had been hoisted). However as soon as she called to her cub, he came running and we watched them saunter side by side into the bush. The moment captured here was their encore - they emerged from the bush just a few minutes later and treated us to some lovely displays of affection and grooming.
