Description: Malachite King Fisher perched on a snag
Story from behind the lens: As we drove from the Mara over to the Mara Triangle at daybreak, we came upon this beautiful jewel of a Kingfisher. He was perched on a snag, close to the road, and overlooking a small pond. I held my breath to make an image of him before he flew away. He was very cooperative and stayed a long time. The darkness of the morning made the background disappear, and he shined in his blue feathers and crown of white!
