Story from behind the lens: A young leopard cub gazes at me with an open stare from her view on a tree limb. She is known as Fallu, the daughter of the recently deceased and much beloved leopard Fig. I was enraptured by Fallu's glorious eyes and unguarded curiosity. I have seen many many leopards in my decades of visiting African countries but never a leopard with eyes this luminous. I converted the image to BW in post processing to further draw attention to the specular highlights in the background which framed her so beautifully.
