Story from behind the lens: This was taken on my second day in the Mara. It was a slow start to the game drive, the skies were struggling to produce rain but we got a few drops. Amidst this light rain, my guide skillfully spotted this matriarch so we parked to watch her. Moments later, she started drawing closer to us and we locked eyes - of course, my lens couldn’t resist this moment. Her beautiful eyes pierced right into my telephoto and there it was, love at first click.
