Description: A pair of lions crossing a clearing in the morning mist
Story from behind the lens: We left camp before sunrise in order to get to an area where we had seen a breeding pair of lions the previous afternoon. It was a cool morning in camp and we would gain elevation on the way to the location we had last seen the lions. I was hopeful that we would be in position at sunrise to capture some images of breath forming if the lions vocalized in the cool air.
By the time we located the lions however, the air temperature had increased and created a blanket of mist. I selected a spot on the edge of a small clearing and waited for the lions to come into view. They emerged from the mist as if choreographed!
