Description: A lioness feasts on an unusual prey species, a large African croc

Story from behind the lens: We came across this unusual and rare sighting of a pride of lions feasting on a large croc. Our guide surmised that due to heavy rains, this croc sought calmer waters in a small side tributary. Due to the shallow water and narrow width of the tributary, the lions were likely able to easily maneuver around the croc on dry land to stalk and kill the croc. When we arrived at the scene, several lionesses and numerous cubs were laying about in the grass. One lone lioness was still having her fill of croc meat. Thanks to our guide Tiampati, aka "Tim", for this fantastic sighting!
