Story from behind the lens: It was incredibly sad to hear the news earlier this year that Fig had been killed. She was such a legend. So I am very thankful that when I returned to the Mara in Oct 2020 I had the most incredible start as on my first game drive back, my guide Patrick spotted Fig & we then spent the rest of the afternoon & the next morning with her & her cub Faula. This image captures the moment when she was repositioning her kill & had also spotted Faula who was looking to rejoin her mother. She was undoubtedly the queen of Olare Motorogi Conservancy.
