Description: Topi pride lions hunting a buffalo

Story from behind the lens: It was early morning when my guide, Jackson Ronko, and I came across the Topi pride who had surrounded a lone buffalo bull in a dry river bed. The buffalo managed to break out of the ring of lions and made a dash out of the river bed with the lions in hot pursuit, unfortunately running away from us. Jackson made the good decision not to cross the river and chase after them and so we held our position with the lions encircling the buffalo once again in the distance. It was a good decision to wait because the buffalo managed to break free again and this time it ran towards us with the lions once again in hot pursuit. It was at this time that I got my picture. What I love most about the image is the expressions on the faces of the lions. The buffalo got away...
