Description: Zebras reluctantly near the water's edge, witnessing wildebeest leap forward into the Mara River.

Story from behind the lens: The herd swelled to more than a thousand. Each wildebeest reluctant to be the first to cross the river where crocodiles lurked in the water and predators possibly lay in ambush on the other side. The territorial hippos grew anxious of the pending onslaught. The birds circled overhead, knowing what was to come and the possible feast ahead. Finally, time and the heat took their tool. The zebras led the wildebeest down to the banks before the first wildebeest calf took the leap of faith into the Mara River, in pursuit of the rains. The herd fell in as one into the water, against a torrent of dust and chaos, in hope to survive another day.
