Description: Offbeat pride male lion searching for rest of the pride just before sunrise

Story from behind the lens: As we were leaving camp in the morning before sunrise we saw this male lion from the Offbeat pride on the ridge. We followed him as we calculated he was going to meet up with the rest of the pride & indeed he would stop at various moments to call for his brother. As the sun had still not risen the light was challenging so I decided to experiment with slower shutter speeds & in this instance zoomed out as he moved towards us. It was pretty hit & miss but I was pleased with this image which I hope captures a dynamic powerful lion on the move.
