Description: Hyena carrying her cub
Story from behind the lens: Hyena are one of the most misunderstood and under-appreciated species in the animal kingdom. During my last trip to the Masai Mara I visited a clan of hyenas with many cubs., every hyena clan is a matriarchy ruled by an alpha female and are attentive, nurturing mothers. I was able to enjoy a lot to see the puppies suckling, playing and how the mothers took care of them, capturing moments of tenderness like this.
