Description: The Lioness waits on the bank of the river for the Wildebeest to cross. Her patience pays off as she ambushes an unsuspecting male. Evenly matched in size, the huntress stared down the prey.
Story from behind the lens: Even in the heat of the day the predators will hunt at the height of the migration. The Lioness knew the Wildebeest were anxious about crossing the river so she hid in plain sight on the banks. Over an hour she waited until she could ambush one of the herd. The heat, dust and adrenaline adding to the anticipation and resulting confrontation.
