Description: Two massive hippo bulls fighting for dominance in the Mara River

Story from behind the lens: When we stopped at a favourite morning coffee stop we noticed a big hippo bull out of the water. It was torn and bleeding but making its way back into the Mara. When it got back into the water, another big bull separated from the pod and came out to meet in in an explosion of blood and spray. For the next 30-40 minutes the two bulls separated to roar and spray dung from a distance then come back together, churning the river pink with blood stained foam.
