Description: A leopard rests in a tree with her kill above.

Story from behind the lens: Early one morning we found Faulu, daughter of Fig, in a tree in the middle of the plain. Her kill was above and the tree was surrounded by hyena. As she sought shelter from the hyena, a genet cat sought shelter from the leopard, by trying to hide at the top of the tree. As the day got warmer, the hyena got bored and drifted off. Faulu left the tree for the cooler riverbank, leaving the genet in peace. This photo is taken full frame, and I tried to capture a scene of the tree shape so familiar in the Mara, with the cat prominent within it.
