Story from behind the lens: Mother lioness' will typically hunt at night leaving their cubs in the safety of the bush. At dawn they would rejoin and usually bond through play and if the cubs are really young through nursing too. This was captured in the soft glow of the morning light as the cub looks for its parents seeking to rejoin them. I liked the way that the morning rays illuminated half of the face, and if one looks closely, then one can see the reflection of the sunrise in its eyes.
