Story from behind the lens: Spotted one of the Offbeat males (Jicho) on a morning work. Sun had just risen and not an animal to be seen. However, from a distance - we spotted a jackal hurrying to catch up to the lion. He kept a good distance for a while, but as time went on - his little steps graduated to a good run until he eventually caught up! Walking alongside his newfound friend, the jackal looked quite comfortable and possibly confident that this partnership would soon lead him to breakfast! Jicho seemed the least bothered with the tag-along. To the jackal's disappointment, the only thing the lion found was his pride and without any elaborate goodbyes, that was the end of this very short-lived union!
