Description: A female lion fights back as she is chased out of the pride

Story from behind the lens: An early morning watching the Offbeat pride as they feast on a Wildebeest kill. Suddenly a pair of lions chase out a sub adult female. She tries to fight back and is wounded in the encounter. It all happened in a matter of seconds with a quick pan and burst of images I was fortunate enough to capture the moment following her injury. Our guides shared the information with the rangers to further assess her wound and decide if it required veterinary intervention.
